David Brickner
In the gauzy haze of his Marlboros, photos of Carlos Santana and Duke Ellington line the green walls. Sometimes he spends all day, all night there, standing at a complicated keyboard. He’s wrestling with the music — finding the right chords, the right drum beats, ears tuned to the slightest variations to merge with the music in his mind.
If a song isn’t right, despite the time consumed, he tosses it. He bends his personal orchestra to his creative will — Latin, classic jazz, rock, smooth jazz. Self-taught, his ears and fingers dance after years of “lessons” from Stevie Wonder, Elton John, or Joe Sample.
He’s created over 1000 songs, creating works that dazzle the best educated musicians. Welcome to David Brickner’s Green Room.

A Note From Dave
In his own words
I use the word “love” because it’s the best word I can think of to describe my journey through life with music. Every journey has a starting point. When something grows, it has roots.
The seeds were planted by watching and listening to my grandfather playing Scott Joplin rags on an old upright piano. By my mother playing albums by Keely Smith, Frank Sinatra, and Johnny Mathis on the hi-fi, day in and day out.
Music was never about money or fame for me. The joy was in the journey. I now hope you will take the time to listen to a small portion of my work.”
